C2S says....

The discussion around PIP reform is a reminder that behind every statistic is a person trying to manage daily life with dignity.

Many of our clients live with a mix of physical and mental‑health conditions, and any proposal to reduce support for back pain, arthritis or anxiety would hit those already struggling the hardest. The IFS warns that excluding or downgrading mental‑health conditions would be counterproductive and create perverse incentives — something we see clearly in real cases every day.

At C2S, we oppose any suggested models that may marginalise mental‑health needs.

Our clients’ challenges are real, complex and often inter-related and their support should reflect that.

We remain committed to advocating for assessments that recognise real-world experiences and daily complex difficulties, protect vulnerable claimants and ensure that those who need help are not left behind by fixed diagnostic criteria.
