We welcome any move towards clearer regulation and higher standards in the benefits-support sector.

Recent comments emanating from the DWP Minister, Sir Stephen Timms highlight a genuine problem: too many claimants are being let down by organisations offering inaccurate, poor-quality or exploitative assistance.

This is one of the fundamental reasons behind our existence.

At C2S, our position is very simple. We support vulnerable people accurately, with transparency and with integrity. We do not ever engage in high-pressure tactics, misleading promises or inflated fees.

Our work is centred on the highest professional standards, clear communication and a commitment to ensuring that our clients understand their rights and the process they are involved in. It is essential for us to make the complex procedures as simple and stress-free as possible.

If the Government chooses to introduce regulation we would categorically welcome it and embrace it. Proper oversight would help claimants, raise standards across the industry and distinguish responsible providers who undermine trust in the system.

C2S was created precisely because of the poor experiences many claimants have had with various services. As a relatively new consultancy , we were born out of frustration and concern with unclear guidance, inconsistent support and a lack of accountability in the sector. Our approach is intentionally different: transparent, structured, evidence-based and focused on giving the highest professional service coupled with ensuring clarity at every stage of the benefit application process.

Pending regulation, we will continue to operate openly, ethically and in the best interests of the people who trust in us to support them. Regulation does not concern us - it reassures us. When standards rise, the organisations who are already doing things properly will stand out even more.
